Where the Snake meets the Clearwater, two legendary fisheries converge. The 2026 King of the Confluence is a two-day competitive derby in Lewiston, ID, targeting both chinook salmon and steelhead across two days. Fish from boat or bank along the Lewiston stretch.

Two Species. One Weekend.
Chinook Salmon
As spring arrives at the confluence, the first chinook of the season begin pushing upstream through the Lewiston stretch. These early-run kings are fresh from the ocean, aggressive, and averaging 15-30 lbs.
Steelhead
The winter steelhead run is in its final stretch by mid-March. These fish have been stacking up at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater for weeks. It's the tail end of one of the best steelhead corridors in the Northwest, and the fish are still biting.
Mid-March sits right at the crossover, one season ramping up and the other winding down. That's what makes this derby unlike anything else at the confluence.
