Chinook Salmon
As spring arrives at the confluence, the first chinook of the season begin pushing upstream through the Lewiston stretch. These early-run kings are fresh from the ocean, aggressive, and averaging 15-30 lbs.

Steelhead
The winter steelhead run is in its final stretch by mid-March. These fish have been stacking up at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater for weeks. It's the tail end of one of the best steelhead corridors in the Northwest — and the fish are still biting.
Mid-March sits right at the crossover — one season ramping up, the other winding down. That's what makes this derby unlike anything else at the confluence.
