The Derby
Three days of competitive steelhead fishing on the Snake and Clearwater Rivers. Men's, Women's, and Youth divisions.

Each division has its own prize pool funded by ticket sales. More entries = bigger prizes.

Adult entry includes 3-day expo admission. Idaho Fishing License & Steelhead Permit required for all anglers.

Prizes are cumulative and are not daily prizes. Winners decided by fish weight. Three divisions: Men's, Women's, Youth.
winner announcement
Winners announced at 4:00 PM at Hells Canyon Grand Hotel. Participants don't need to be present to win. Winners receive mailed checks. Belts & trophies available for pickup after 4 PM.
how ties are decided
- 1.Length of fish used to determine winner
- 2.If both weight and length are identical, prize money is split
- Fish must be weighed in by the person who caught it
- Steelhead tag must be presented
- Must be weighed at an official derby station

- •All boats must display valid Idaho Invasive Species Sticker
- •Out-of-state boats must be inspected before launching
- •All water inside vessel must be drained before transport
- •Clean, drain, and dry all watercraft including kayaks
